A Note from Anne-Marie Hildebrandt:
To whom it may concern:
This is just a quick note to let you know about a musical fireside I am now offering entitled At Jesus’ Knee: Everything I Need to Be Happy I Learned in Primary. This fireside bears a simple message; one of the recapturing of childhood innocence, ever necessary as our world and our lives become increasingly complicated. As we grow and progress, we may find ourselves losing much of what Christ values as he calls us to “become as little children.” There is great value in looking back at what we learned as children in an effort to reclaim that particular clarity of thought and purity of spirit, and as we do it becomes apparent that indeed, everything we need to know in order to be happy we learned in Primary.
Music is an integral part of the way we learned as children, so what better way to rekindle that spark than through music; and what better music to incorporate into such a lesson than songs from the Primary Songbook? It is my great honor to apply my musical gifts and lifelong training to these pure, simple, and beautiful melodies. I have arranged many of my favorite Primary songs to include more than just my own piano and vocals, so firesides may also include other instrumentalists and vocalists. When appropriate, I may also include other, more contemporary music as relates to the subject. As a songwriter, I have written much spiritual music, and such songs, I pray, can also touch people. Whatever the needs of the audience, it is my hope to create an inspiring, uplifting experience through testimony, scripture, and song.
The fireside runs approximately 50-55 minutes and is appropriate for both youth and adult audiences, at a ward, multi-ward, Stake, or multi-Stake level. If your group would like to schedule the At Jesus’ Knee fireside, or if they would like more information, please contact me directly or visit my website, amhmusic.com for more information.
If appropriate, I will try to organize a small choir of sopranos and altos in your area, to participate in the fireside. And it would be interesting to know as well of sufficiently skilled pianists, violinists, cellists, oboists, and/or flutists you may have at hand. While these instruments are not necessary, it is always fun to included as many musicians as are willing and able. (To determine what “sufficiently skilled” might entail, listen to the accompanying fireside CD, At Jesus’ Knee.) Short rehearsals in the day or two preceding the fireside would be recommended.
I am including a little flyer about the fireside with this letter. For interested groups I will also provide 10 personalized flyers, with the name of the host ward(s) or Stake(s) and the date and time of the event. A digital file can be e-mailed upon request.
Thank you so very much for your time and interest.
Sincerely yours,
Anne-Marie Hildebrandt
